What are FAME electives, and how do I apply to get a workshop/class endorsed as a FAME-endorsed elective?
FAME offers endorsed electives that allow educators to explore how various musical focuses connect with the Feierabend philosophy and approach. Click HERE to view the currently endorsed FAME electives.

Stipulations for a FAME-Endorsed Elective:
- The elective must be at least three hours in instructional time but may be longer.
- It must align with FAME’s Core Values and Beliefs:
- Musicianship: Developing the tuneful, beatful, and artful skills of all individuals from the earliest age possible to grow musical people.
- Education: Utilizing the Feierabend philosophy of music education to foster the growth of music educators across the world.
- Community: Sharing in the joy of music-making and treasuring time together while we support, grow with, and learn from one another.
- Equity: Removing barriers to access, learning from differences, and celebrating the cultural heritage music of the world to better understand various cultures and perspectives.
- If you are not a certified FAME Teacher Trainer, you must submit:
- A resume/CV
- A letter of recommendation from a colleague who has observed your presentation.
- The FAME Electives Committee will review proposals and make recommendations to the FAME Board for approval.
- Once approved, workshops/classes do not need to be resubmitted unless significant changes are made.
